Short downtime due to server upgrades

Both servers that are used to host all ImageHost.org content will be upgraded some time today to increase performance and expand capacity. Each server will be upgraded from 4GB RAM to a total of 8GB RAM and each server will have another HDD installed. These upgrades will cause short down time, however the site should be a lot faster again (more RAM means more images that can be cached, and the extra HDDs are used to better distribute I/O load).

I was a little worried when I saw my images weren’t working today but now I see this is why. Very awesome news! Keep up the good work on such an awesome site <3

I’m not sure how you relate a message from February with down time in late April

Now unfortunately the server appears to have gone offline. I’ve sent a ticket to my provider to investigate…

Update: the server is back online.

It seems I must be the last Dutch person to found about this just now. It’s probably related to the downtime, as some images of the incident were uploaded 30-45 minutes prior to the server going down. Although technically a little higher load should definitely not do that.
