Last Thursday the hard drive of server b.imagehost.org ran out of space. In order to clear up some space, I then ran a command which accidentally deleted a couple hundred files that shouldn’t have been deleted (ouch). Fortunately the affected files were still stored in a backup, but it took a few days to come up with a solution where I could restore the files intelligently (without restoring everything). If you notice a file is missing: don’t worry it’ll be back within 24 hours or so. Note that this problem only affected non-hotlinkable files. Hotlinkable images and thumbnails were not affected.

Hi! I have one question: how can I see what files I have uploaded?
I press the “Gallery” button and says something like this: “This page shows which files you have uploaded. However you have not uploaded any file yet.” All though I uploaded a lot of images and other stuff it never shows me what I have uploaded.
For example I upload something today and it shows me, when I press the “Gallery” button, what I have uploaded but next day it appears that error or what it is.
Can you help me?

The Gallery feature works like this: whenever you visit the site, a browser “cookie” with a unique code is set. When you then upload a file, this unique code gets logged. The Gallery page then simply checks which files have been uploaded that have the same unique code as in the browser “cookie”.
If you have your browser (or other security software) set to block cookies from ImageHost.org, or if you frequently delete browser cookies, then the contents of your Gallery page will seem to get reset all the time (as each time the cookie gets deleted another one will get set with a new unique code). Another side effect of how the Galery page works is that it’ll only work on the same browser on the same PC – switch browsers or PCs and the “cookie jar” is different.
Before you ask (in case you are wondering), yes I do plan to add a login system someday with with which you can access your uploaded files anytime from anywhere and don’t have to worry about accidentally deleting cookies. As that system will require some planning, I can’t give an ETA unfortunately.

Thank you a lot GHDpro for answering. I know about the “cookies” and the switching between browsers, but any of those aren’t available in my case, I suppose that is something else but I can’t figure what. Anyway I can’t wait to see the “Log In” option introduced, this way I will lose no more files
